Pádraig Rynne

Pádraig Rynne, hailing from the rich musical landscape of County Clare, Ireland, is a highly acclaimed concertina player, composer, and producer known for pushing the boundaries of traditional Irish music. From an early age, Rynne demonstrated extraordinary talent, winning five All-Ireland concertina titles by the time he was just 17. His musical journey quickly expanded beyond competitions, leading him to perform on international stages and collaborate with some of the most respected names in folk and contemporary music.

A visionary in his field, Rynne has played a key role in modernizing Irish traditional music by infusing it with elements of jazz, electronic, and world music. As a founding member of innovative ensembles such as Cian, Guidewires, Breen | Rynne | Murray, and NOTIFY, he has redefined how audiences experience folk music, blending tradition with fresh, contemporary influences. His solo works, including Bye a While, Conscious, and Begin with the End in Mind, showcase his unique compositional style and artistic evolution.

Beyond performance, Rynne is deeply committed to music education. As Music Development Officer for Music Generation Clare, he established the world’s first concertina orchestra, providing young musicians with opportunities to explore and develop their craft, ensuring the tradition continues to thrive for future generations.
